August 20th, 2020
Greetings PTA Leaders.
Congratulations to you and your team on your commitment to serve our children during the 2020-2021 school year! I am honored to serve as your newly elected District Director for the remainder of the 2020 - 2021 term. As District Director, I am excited to have the opportunity to work not only WITH you but FOR you.
Given the current state of our country, many families are facing new levels of hardship. We will diligently work to build and sustain virtual bonds to support our students, families, and school staff during this pandemic.
We, as a PTA, will need to be the voice for the children that are facing economical disadvantages, health issues, struggling to learn, and children that are dealing with emotional and/or family issues. Together, we will make a difference and ensure that every child’s potential can become a reality —this is the heart of Georgia PTA.
Part of making a difference means that we constantly pursue leadership development opportunities so that we are more knowledgeable and better equipped to help others. Your efforts and commitment to making a difference in their lives will be greatly appreciated.
The role of District 12 is to serve as a liaison between Georgia PTA and the Area Councils. Your Area Council is your primary contact for questions, concerns, requests, etc. As you are the voice for the students, I am your voice, by listening to you and taking your ideas and invaluable feedback, and presenting them at the State Board Meetings.
Again, thank you for volunteering and putting our students first!
For the children,
Carlatta Anderson
District 12, Director
